More than 6 weeks
Recurrent of hives, with or without angioedema,
> 3 days/week persisting for ≥ 6 weeks
Urticaria = sudden appearance of wheals, angioedema, or both.
3 typical features
central swelling of variable size, surrounded by a reflex erythema
itching or sometimes burning
fleeting nature, usually resolve within 1–24 h.
Non-blanching rashes = do not disappear with pressure,
particularly using the 'glass test'.
